About Me and My Life of Adventure

My life is an adventure. I’m always learning something new. I’m a mother of three, married to a wonderful guy for nearly 20 years already. Since our kids are always doing more and more on computers, I thought it would be great to learn more. So, I started building this website.

Panama City Beach is our family’s most visited vacation spot. This started for my husband in the early 1960’s when his family frequently vacationed down there and for me on our Honeymoon. Since then we’ve been back every year, usually more than once. We love the water and the beautiful white sand beaches. The first time we went to another coast our kids thought the brown sand was the strangest thing! Over the years, our adventures in Panama City Beach have varied widely as both the town and our family have changed and our kids have grown up.

As much adventure as we’ve enjoyed in Panama City Beach, there are two even greater adventures in my life. The first is becoming a Christian and the never ending challenge and blessings that come while trying to live God’s way...to love God and love others. The simple concept of loving others, treating them as I would wish to be treated...with patience, respect, kindness, truth, gentleness, encouragement, generosity...is challenging to live out. After all these years, I’m still finding new challenges and new steps to take in trying to seek God first in my life. Looking back, we can see that God has blessed us and cared for us in many ways. We are also certain he has looked out for us in ways we never knew. One recent example was in the choice a friend and I made to go through the bank drive through rather than going inside. We later learned that while we were there an incident involving hostages was starting to play out at the bank.

The second has been life with the three children God has blessed us with. Raising kids has been amazing, difficult, fun, exciting, joy filled, gut wrenching, adventurous and more as we’ve watched and tried to help guide them as they grow up. We have always told them God gave us good kids (not perfect though) because he knew we couldn’t handle bad ones. It is such an amazing feeling when you repeat something for years and years and all of the sudden you see one of them "get it". It is exciting to see them each find God, pursue their own interests, develop their own talents and abilities and learn to become independent. It is incredible to see them step up and accomplish things that we never thought they could do. Our kids are amazing!

Our hope for everyone is that they find joy in the grand adventure of following Christ. Our hope for families is that they experience the joy and bonds of friendship that come with spending time and making memories together.
