Alligators, Sharks and Souvenirs
at Alvin's Island

Alvin’s Island Sign

Feeding alligators and sharks are daily exhibits at Alvin’s flagship store, The Magic Mountain Mall. If you have kids this is a must and it’s free! There are several Alvin’s Island Tropical Department Stores in Panama City Beach, including an outlet store. The one with the animals is located on Front Beach Road and looks like a giant rock. Check the feeding times at the store. It’s a big store with several levels, so plan some time to wander around and find the animal exhibits.

Petting a Baby Alligator

You can see the daily shark feeding at the big aquarium in the middle of the store. It's not a huge shark, but it's nice that you can get up really close to it. Look up and enjoy the sea life exhibit as well.

Shark Display at Alvin’s Island

Alvin's Island has lots of these amazing reptiles ranging from tiny babies to full grown ones to see. When the handlers there, you can even pet a baby 'gator. You can watch them feed meat to the big ones from the windows in the exhibit. There is also a path from the second floor that goes outdoors around the store above the animals. It is not obviously located, but the view makes it well worth finding.

Entry to Moby Dick's Store

You can also go to see free live feeding at Moby Dick's, but the display is much smaller and houses just a few smaller animals. Zoo World also has live alligator feedings, which you can see if you've paid for admission to the park.

Inside Alvin’s Island

The stores have a large selection of swimwear, beachwear and souvenirs. It's fun to watch them airbrush a souvenir t-shirt. The big store is the most interesting to see since it has animal exhibits and decorations all over and has so many levels. You’ll feel like you’re discovering something new every time you turn around.
