Arcades
When it comes to arcades, there are plenty of choices in Panama City Beach. If you are not staying at one of the resorts that has a game room, or would just like to go to a larger facility, knowing what additional activities are nearby is a great help in deciding which to visit. Outdoor Family Entertainment Virtual Roller Coasters Mini Golf The Alien Arcade at Emerald Falls Family Recreation Center and the main game room at Cobra Adventure Park are fairly comparable. They both are nice sized facilities located in recreation centers with multiple family activities and both feature a virtual roller coaster. If you'd like to experience a virtual roller coaster with a group, try the 4D theater at Ripley's Believe it or Not. Alien has a variety of games including DDR, Deal or No Deal, Guitar Hero, slot machines, air hockey and more, but not many of the games are for young children.
Cobra has the Temple of Terror, one of only two shooting range games we found. In addition to the main building, there is a smaller semi-outdoor building and batting cages. The most notable thing about this one is the fourteen Skee-ball games.
One slightly confusing thing is that Super Speed's Golden Gate Go Kart Track sits between the two Cobra buildings. Shopping Both Shipwreck, Ltd. and the main Alvin's Island have small game rooms located right in the stores. What a great way to give your kids a break from shopping! The Shoppes at Edgewater strip mall has an medium sized game room inside of Rock It Lanes. Go Karts Indoor and Outdoor Family Entertainment Indoor Mini Golf In addition to five different go kart tracks, indoor mini golf and more, Super Speed had a brightly colored purple castle building that holds all their coin operated games and serves as their ticket booth for their other attractions. This is another nice sized facility with a good variety of games. Notably it has the Shootout Saloon shooting range game and Ms. Pacman. There is a small row of games for younger children. Superspeed is also located right by the Cobra Adventure Center, so there are a lot of things to do nearby. Indoor Family Entertainment The arcade at Rock It Lanes is a little smaller. It's especially nice for a rainy day since there is bowling, pool tables, roller skating, food and the arcade all under one roof. There is a small section of kiddie games. The most notable items were the biggest claw game I've ever seen and the virtual batting cage.
Most Choices for Young Kids Largest - Most Games Funland on Front Beach Road is definitely the largest and probably the oldest in the area as well. The signage and the restaurant décor are reminiscent of the 1950's. There are some older games there, but there are also brand new ones such as Deal or No Deal. This is also the best choice if you have young children. There are far more kiddie games and rides here than any of the other arcades. There are also 3 pool tables and air hockey. Unlike many other places in the area, this one opens early in the day.
Batting Cages Cobra Adventure Park has outdoor batting cages right next to their smaller game room. If you'd like to try a virtual batting cage, the game room at Rock It Lanes has one.
