Calling all Families and Nature Lover's: Panama City Beach has not only Beautiful Beaches but some of the Most Astounding State Parks!!

My family and I try to visit Panama City Beach, Florida at least every other year. The beaches here are unparalleled because the sand is crystal white and the waters have that unique splash of emerald that you don't see very often. You feel like you are in the tropics without paying the huge price tag!!
One of our favorite activities as a family when we visit is going to Saint Andrews State Park and Shell Island. We have been taking my son here since he was a toddler, and some of his most fond memories are of these two locations.
Shell island is a blast for almost any age group because shell collecting isn't the only fun activity here. There is an abundance of wildlife including dolphins, sea turtles and fish. We usually try to go snorkeling while we are there. It's one of the best spots we've ever been to in terms of the bountiful species of colorful fish.
I would set aside at least an entire day to spend on Shell Island because there is so much to do that you won't want to leave!! Technically, Shell Island is part of the Saint Andrews State Park, so there is also kayaking, canoeing and a few piers for those who like to fish too!! The cool thing about Saint Andrews is that it is close to the Gulf of Mexico. You get that continued "WOW" factor when you see the beaches there.
There are a ton of nature trails too, but if you choose to do this, take it from me: Do it in the morning or late afternoon before the sun has been out for awhile because it can get very hot!!
Now, go enjoy the loads of family opportunities available at St. Andrews Park and Shell Island...Oh, and did I mention that the cost is another huge plus (you pay for the boats to take you to and from, but then you get to enjoy all of these great outdoor activities at virtually no extra cost!!) Take some sunscreen, plan out your day, and go have fun!!!
