Camping with the Family at Raccoon River Campground

Our Fishing Catch!

Every summer my family and I drive from New York City to the Raccoon River Campground in Panama City Beach. We frequently stay at this campground because of the amenities that they offer. I have to have access to the internet at all times due to my job and this campground offers Wi-fi for a small fee.

We typically use a 5-person tent and although Florida can be quite warm, Raccoon River has sites that are shady and offer a cooler environment. There are various sites to rent, some with views of a local lake and others that are closer to the hiking trails. We typically rent a lake view spot because my children love to swim and play in the water.

One year, my 5-year old was learning to swim and he was able to cross the river by himself, with the my supervision. This was a great accomplishment for him and memory for me.

My family is also avid fishers and we frequently catch quite a lot. My picture shows our catch this past summer.
