Enjoy Florida Beaches and Parks
Near Panama City Beach

BeachOf all the Florida beaches, the sugar white sand beaches of Panama City Beach are considered the best. In fact they are called the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches.

Driving East to West on Route 98, you’ll notice signs for Exit A, B, C…Each road brings you right to Front Beach Road (Alternate 98), much of which runs right along the beach. The public beach accesses on Front Beach Road and Thomas Drive are numbered and clearly marked. Stop and enjoy a nice walk, sunbathing, water sports or just the sight and sound of the waves of the emerald water crashing against the white sandy beach.

Panama City BeachState parks are full of wonderful outdoor activities for a nominal price. Just East of Panama City Beach is the beautiful St. Andrews State Park. This park offers over a mile and a half of beautiful Florida beaches on the gulf coast and the Grand Lagoon. It also offers numerous outdoor activities. There are beaches, a 2 mile bike path, a boat launch, piers and the jetties for fishing, hiking trails, boating, picnic pavilions, camping and more.

Panama City BeachJust West of Panama City Beach is Camp Helen State Park. Besides beaches, swimming, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing, you can also enjoy Lake Powell. Lake Powell is one of 15 coastal dune lakes in Walton County. Worldwide, the unique ecosystem of coastal dune lakes is a rarity. Some of the hiking trails are made of soft white sand. Stop at the visitor center for a list of local plants and wildlife in the area.

Panama City BeachFrank Brown Park has a huge range of outdoor activities. From the simple sign along the road, you would not imagine all the facilities that are there...ball fields, tennis courts, a community center, basketball courts, a youth fresh water fishing area, a playground, shuffleboard and a whole aquatic park complete with a large splash park. There is something to please everyone, even a fenced dog play area for your pets.

Panama City BeachPier Park is actually a shopping center. However, it is adjacent to the Aaron Bessant Park which hosts an outdoor summer concert series on Thursday nights.
