Frank Brown Park Swimming and Outdoor Recreation
Frank Brown Park has a huge range of facilities for outdoor recreation and hosts many events. In addition to park district classes and programs, The 9 softball/baseball fields, 2 t-ball fields, 3 soccer fields and 4 football fields make it a popular spot for numerous sporting tournaments including baseball, softball, soccer and rugby. People come from all over for some of the World Series Baseball and Softball tournaments which are hosted there by a number of different organizations.
Under the Palms is an attractive and colorful playground
which is sure to provide hours of fun for families with young children. There is a Freshwater Youth Fishing Pond, but you must be accompanied by someone 16 or under to fish there. Families can enjoy basketball, sand volleyball, tennis and shuffleboard. If you vacation with your pet, you will appreciate the pet friendly 1.5 miles of greenways and trails as well as a fenced dog play area.
The park also boasts a 22 acre festival site. Some events you may find at the park are the Golf Coast Charity Horse Show & Music Festival, Circus by the Sea, Indian Summer Seafood Festival & the Emerald Coast Cruizin’ Hotrod event.
Want to beat the heat? The new aquatic center was just opened in 2006. It is open to the public and offers daily, 20 pass and season passes. The 50 meter heated/cooled Olympic pool, 1 meter springboard diving well and 5000 square foot splash park combine to make this aquatic center fun for the entire family. Concessions and gifts are also available at the aquatic center.
