Gulf World a Day of Fun and Learning
Gulf World Marine Park on Front Beach Road near Exit G is great place to build wonderful family memories. In addition to all the entertainment and education, this marine park is part of the Marine Mammal Stranding network. They provide long-term rehabilitation facilities for dolphins and small whales as well as temporary housing and care for sea turtles.
When you arrive check the show schedule so that you don’t miss a thing. If you want to go more than once in a year, a season pass may save you money and give you some extra perks and discounts. It takes 4-5 hours during the day to see all of the shows and exhibits. Between shows there are plenty of animals and exhibits to see as well as a stingray petting pool. Snacks and food and of course the gift shop items can be purchased in the park. Finally, get your hand stamped and remember to come back for their evening variety show.
The dolphin show and the California sea lion show would have to be my favorites. Yes, you can see them both twice in one day! Other shows include exotic birds, reptiles, x-treme high dive team, underwater scuba in a large aquarium, shark and reptile feeding and even a magic show.
Other programs include Swim with Dolphins and Trainer for a Day which both have educational sections and time in the water with the dolphins. There is a Dolphin Day Camps for kids 8-12 years old, an overnight adventure called Snooze with the Sea Life for groups and birthday party packages for children. There is also a banquet room which can accommodate receptions or functions of up to 150 people.
