Raccoon River Campground Is the Perfect Camping Spot!

I live in Panama City Beach, FL so I've been camping at many places in the area. Each and every one of the camp sites have had their redeeming qualities, but I'd have to say that my absolute favorite place to go camping in Panama City Beach is Raccoon River Campground.

Every summer my oldest boy, Jason, always requests that we visit Raccoon River Campground. He's a boy who really loves to go camping, (just like his dad!) so he really knows his stuff. For the past three summers we have visited this camp site without fail.

What I love most is that it is totally family friendly and there are always many families camping when we go to visit the camp site. We've met a lot of awesome people at Raccoon River including a family that became best friends with us all. That being said, the people here are good people who just like to hang out in nature and have a good time.

When we visit the first thing we usually do is go fishing. We always enjoy having a dinner of fresh fish. The environment is wonderful, so to me it just really feels like the best thing to do. It really makes me feel like I am a part of nature. Like I am close to it, I guess. We always roast our fish over an open flame. We do not bring grills or other food. We always catch out own! It is a lot of fun and I know my boys always enjoy it.

Unlike a lot of families, we never bring an RV to Raccoon River Campground. Instead, we set up tents and just generally enjoy nature. This place is really safe. There are no bears of wolves here, so I feel completely at ease camping out. You do see some small animals every now and then like squirrels and raccoons, but they will do you no harm whatsoever. The most they may do is steal the leftovers from our fish feast. :)

We usually stay only one or two nights, but it is always a lot of fun. It is great to get the family out of the house. I love doing things with my family, so visiting Raccoon River Campsite is the perfect opportunity to spend time with the ones I love.

If you are visiting Panama City Beach, FL, I suggest checking the place out. It is probably the best campsite I have ever been to in the entire country.
