RV Camping and Tenting
For those who love RV camping or tenting there are plenty of facilities in Panama City Beach. Whether you like to rough it tenting or stay at an RV resort, you’ll find a campground to suit your style. St. Andrews State Park St. Andrews State Park has 176 campsites with water and electric hook up. They also have a primitive camping area which is available for small non-profit organized groups. Camping at St. Andrews allows you to enjoy all of the amenities of the state park. Once the park closes at sunset, the campers have the beaches and park to themselves. The drawback would be that there is not a pool.
Panama City Beach RV Resort Panama City Beach RV Resort is on Thomas Drive not far from St. Andrews State Park. This park offers the advantage of being a private gated resort with a beach access right across the street. The concrete pads and beautiful paved brick roads give this park a real resort feel. This pet friendly park offers electric, water and sewer hook ups as well as cable TV. There is a heated pool with a beautiful brick paved deck and tropical landscaping. If you don’t have an RV, this campground has some condo units available for rent. If you find you love it, you can purchase your own campsite.
Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort For RV camping with a large RV, you may wish to consider Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort which has both back in and pull through sites, some of them being extra long. There are concrete roads, pads and patios. In addition to water, sewer & electric, the 144 large level sites have beautiful landscaping, picnic tables, premium cable TV and wi-fi. There is a 50’ heated pool, a store, shower and laundry facilities, a dog wash area, playground, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, bike rentals and fresh water fishing. There offer a Saturday breakfast buffet and in the winter there are scheduled activities such as crafts, bingo and movies. For those who don’t have an RV there is a cozy park model for rent. The drawback is they are about a mile from the beach.
Campers Inn If you like tenting, Campers Inn on Thomas Drive has tent sites with water and electric in addition to RV spaces, mobile home sites and rustic cabins for rent.
Racoon River Raccoon River on Middle Beach Road has a very inviting campground look and feel. It has both primitive and electric tenting sites as well as RV camping sites. Both Campers Inn and Raccoon River have pools, pull through spaces and stores.
While Pineglen RV Park has many amenities including free wi-fi, we can not recommend it for your family vacation since they do not allow children aged 11-17. Family camping tips from experienced campers for meals, equipment, rainy day activities, camp set up and more will be of great value as you plan and shop for your camping vacation.
Since we don't personally own an RV, I'd like to refer you to a site about travel trailers. I particularly like the information on choosing a camper and how to care for it.
