Seafood restaurants in Panama City Beach are plentiful. You have choices ranging from fine dining to casual restaurants to buffets.
If your looking for fine dining at a place that offers both seafood and steak, the sprawling Boars Head restaurant is a great choice for a candle light atmosphere. Captain Andersons, located at the marina gives you the opportunity to watch the fishing boats come in as you dine.
For those wanting something a little more casual, a buffet is a nice option with fast service. Bishop’s Buffet on Front Beach Road and Captain Jack’s Seafood Buffet on Thomas Drive are both managed by Jack Bishop and have very comparable menus and pricing. The buffets hold a nice selection and are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For #1 crab legs, you will need to go at dinner time or for Sunday brunch. While the lunch menus are less expensive, you will not find nearly as many seafood offerings. The quality does not match a fine dining restaurant, but the convenience, price and variety are worth it. Captain Jacks is notable for its unique round dining room accented with a curved buffet. Since our kids do not have a great appreciation for seafood, sometimes we bring home fast food for them and have a parents evening out!
Another casual place to enjoy a good seafood dinner is Dirty Dick’s Crab House. They have a wide variety of seafood and like most seafood restaurants, there are a few chicken, steak and rib choices. I was most struck by the huge variety of crab dishes...she crab soup, Louisiana crab dip, Alaskan king crab, sno crab legs, jumbo blue crab, dungeness crab, crab cakes, creole stuffed crabs and more! The food was good and the portions were generous, but we have only been there once because the cafeteria like ambiance is not our dining preference. It is however a great fit for the name!
