Shipwreck Island A Cool Spot on a Hot Day
Shipwreck Island Waterpark on Middle Beach Road near Alf Coleman Road has a variety of rides for the whole family.
For the adventurous there are thrill rides like the Tree Top Drop, Raging Rapids and Pirates Plunge. For those who prefer gentler rides there is an
Ocean Motion Wave Pool, the Zoom Flume and of course the Great Shipwreck where you can zip out away from the ship and drop into the water.
The children’s activity center, called the Tadpole Hole is a large brightly colored play area for younger kids. And for those who just want to relax...the lazy river which winds around the children's area, the Treetop Drop and the Great Shipwrek is perfect. You can relax as you float around and enjoy the tropical landscaping.
Water parks are a great outing for a hot day. This one is open in June and July. If you are coming at another time, check their schedule of limited days and hours in April, May, August and September to make sure they will be open when you arrive.
Except for senior citizen rates, it is interesting to note that tickets are priced by height rather than age. Perhaps this is because there are a few rides that have height restrictions. If you plan to go more than once in a season, purchasing a VIP pass may save you some money.
If you’re planning a family reunion or other event, group prices may be available for groups of 25 or more. Group packages are available with or without food.
You may not bring food or coolers into the park, but you can purchase food there. If you prefer to get out of the sun for a bit, hand stamps at the exit allow a same day return.
