Shopping Malls and More
Shopping malls are just the beginning of the shopping experiences in Panama City Beach. There has been so much development along the beach there is very little you must go over to Panama City to find. Pier Park is a brand new and still growing outdoor shopping mall that stretches all the way from Front Beach Road to Panama City Beach Parkway. Target, Dillards and JC Penney anchor the brightly colored mall. Ron Jon Surf Shop is another large store there which according to our teens is very important.
Additionally there is entertainment including a carousel, a large theater and the Mirror Maze and Laser Craze, twenty restaurants, several specialty food shops including Starbucks Coffee and many other stores. Driving over the bridge to Panama City Mall is a good rainy day option. Panama City Mall is anchored by Sears, Dillard's and JC Penney. It also has a cinema, a food court with over a dozen restaurants and specialty food shops and about 75 other stores.
On the way there, you will pass countless strip malls on 23rd Street with stores such as Sam's Club, Ross, Home Depot, Lowe's, Pier One, Kirkland's, Office Depot , JoAnne Crafts & Fabrics, Wal-Mart and more. Along the beach you will find numerous beach and souvenir shops. Alvin's Island has several locations, but if you want to see the live alligators, go to the one on Front Beach Road that looks like a giant Rock. Shell Port with its bright orange roof and a shark blasting through the front is hard to miss. This family owned store is a great place to find sea shell souvenirs, hermit crabs, airbrushed items and more. On top of that the store is family friendly…no need to worry about your kids seeing adult gifts here.
Going to the beach? Crazy Pete's has sunglasses galore. There are numerous places to purchase bathing suits. How about watching an artist airbrush a souvenir t shirt or towel for you? Speaking of art…if you love seascapes, you'll enjoy a trip into Panama City to see the colorful art at the Paul Brent Gallery.
If you like flea markets, the 15th Street Flea Market in Panama City is well established and open on the weekends. Much of it is outdoors, so pick a nice day to go. 4th Floor Marketplace is a brand new, indoor, air conditioned flea market located in Panama City Beach on the 4th floor of the Premier Storage Building on Joan Avenue. Look for Dad on Fridays and Saturdays selling socks, Beanie Babies, Precious Moments and more at “Things Enjoyable”.
Finally, if you've rented a condo, you'll want to go to a grocery store.
