Surfside Christian Retreat

Surfside Christian Retreat is a private facility with a totally Christian atmosphere. Owner/operators, David and Cindi McFarland welcome guests from schools, home school groups, church groups, Christian or charity based organizations, as well as families. Located on the quiet West end of Panama City Beach, the beautiful white sand beaches along the Emerald Coast make this retreat is an ideal place for a peaceful get away surrounded by nature’s beauty.

This two story retreat is unique in that they serve only one group of up to 76 people at a time. In addition to 3 dorm style rooms sleeping 24, 24 and 16, there are 3 staff rooms sleeping 4 each. All rooms have both heating and air conditioning. You will need to bring your own bedding.

For teaching and group time, there is a fully equipped meeting room complete with TV, DVD, VCR and an electronic piano with midi. The property also offers ample space to break up into smaller groups for discussion, study or reflection.

What is a retreat without food! For meal time there is a fully equipped commercial kitchen and a screened dining available for your group’s enjoyment. There are several major grocery stores in the area as well as the Carousel, a large convenience store. If you don’t wish to cook, there are catering plans available by the meal or by the day.

For recreation time, your group will enjoy the beachfront pool, balconies overlooking the pool and beach, sand volleyball and all the beach and gulf have to offer without even leaving the property. There is also a retreat store right in the building for snacks, gifts and supplies. If you have some extra time, Gulf World Marine Park and Shipwreck Island Water Park both offer group rates. Another nearby option is Pier Park, a brand new outdoor mall.

A single (sleeps 4) or two adjoining (sleeps 8) staff rooms at Surfside Christian Retreat have some limited availability for families in the off season. If Sunday night through Friday morning during the school year fits with your schedule, it is a very affordable way to stay right on the beach. Reservations are taken up to three weeks in advance.
