Transportation to and around Panama City Beach, FL
Getting There
The main factors to consider when choosing your transportation to Panama City Beach seem to be time and money. Since time tends to be the more available factor for our family of five, we usually drive. All those miles have given us tons of experience in keeping kids entertained while in the car.
Other budget means of arrival include Greyhound and Amtrak.
Unless you drove, you’ll likely want to rent a car to give you the flexibility to easily explore Panama City Beach and Panama City. There are a number of car rental companies at the airport. Alternatively, Budget and Enterprise Rent-A-Car both have in town locations.
Other available alternatives include taxis and for special occasions you may wish to try limousine service.
There are other more memorable options as well. An inexpensive choice is the Bay Town Trolley bus system. There are eight bus routes taking you most anywhere you’d like to go both in Panama City and Panama City Beach. There are numerous trolley stops including both the airport and the bus station.
If you’d like to just cruise around town and enjoy the sites, renting motor scooters or an electric car can be a lot of fun. It can also provide a second vehicle for getting around. This is especially nice if your group would like to split up for a few hours to enjoy different activities.
