Building a Website with
SBI's Web Design Tools

Web design tools did not even exist when I was in school. We didn’t have keyboarding class, we had typing class…and we were lucky…we had electric typewriters! While I had one friend whose family had a computer (it had an amazing program that generated word search puzzles) when we were in high school, I did not have my own computer until sometime after college. Needless to say, the world has changed. My kids had their first computer classes in kindergarten.

Over the years I’ve learned to get around on my computer. I can type a letter or do a simple spread sheet, but I’m not an expert. I don’t even know how to use most of the bells and whistles on Word and Excel. I once hired a college student to help me build my first web site, but the web has changed dramatically since then and so have the web design tools.

When I decided to do a new web site, I knew I needed to learn so much more. Quite by accident I stumbled upon information about Site Build It! and its all inclusive set of web design tools. I spent days reading the ads and thinking about it and even talked to a friend who had used it before I finally took the plunge and signed up. It was a great choice!

Site Build It! is not just a web building tool. It’s a complete all inclusive system. If you’re willing to follow the directions, it will take you step by step through everything from brainstorming to choosing a good topic that is neither too broad nor too narrow to researching and planning your site to choosing and registering a domain that is good for both humans and spiders to writing pages (you don’t even need to know the little I did about HTML) to choosing and using good key words to submitting to search engines and directories to building traffic to making money with your site.

Building any business takes time, funds and effort.

Funds: I hate being nickel and dimed. So, I love the fact that Site Build It! is an all inclusive pacakge that includes not only the training and tools as mentioned before, but also domain registration and site hosting costs, access to their forums, and email. I also know the annual fee is less than the cost of a single mailer or similar ad. It is also less that the price that we pay for just web hosting and email where I work.

Effort: Since the system explains things so well that most of the process has been enjoyable and frustration has been minimal. There is no substitute for good web design tools to make the most of your efforts.

And if you want to do something extra fancy, there are amazingly smart people on the forums who will help you with that too.
