See the Shows and Animals at Zoo World
Zoo World Zoological Conservatory is a not for profit zoological and botanical park located on Front Beach Road. It is home to about 300 exotic and many endangered animals. Come see the lions, tigers, kangaroos, bears, monkeys, alligators, snakes, parrots and more.
Enjoy a walk around Swan Lake in the middle of the park and see the black swans and ducks swimming peacfully. The 7-1/2 acre park is fairly small so you only need a couple hours to see the animal displays.
There are also scheduled entertaining and educational animal shows daily. If you want to see all of them...alligator feeding, wolf encounter, going wild or parrots of the world...you need to plan for half a day.

The Gentle Jungle Petting Zoo is not to be missed.
You will want purchase a bag of food in the gift shop or a handful from vending machines in the area. Besides the goats, llamas and normal petting zoo animals, you can hand feed and pet Sidney the Giraffe! If she’s outside, there is a giraffe feeding tower so you can get right up close to her. If she’s inside she’ll reach right down to you.
It is a fun and unique experience. Admission is on the high side for a small zoo, but I thought that meeting Sidney was worth it.
Volunteer opportunities exist with 24 hours notice. You can have the chance to work with animal management staff or horticulture staff and be trained right on the job. What an awesome opportunity for both plant and animal lovers. They also offer birthday party packages and summer day camps.
